I Dig Dinos
at Discovery Gateway
I Dig Dinos is a 3500 square foot exhibition at the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum. This exhibition was produced in-house by Discovery Gateway and was opened in the summer of 2022.
I Dig Dinos is designed as a first of it’s kind in Utah. A hands-on exploration on the field of paleontology. The exhibition includes 2 full replica dinosaur skeletons, a dig site, laboratory, and real fossils that children can touch and analyze. In the exhibition, children role play as paleontologists, digging up fossils and taking them to the laboratory to study. Children then match the bones they find to full scale replica Utah Raptor skeleton on display.
I was the project manager, primary designer and fabricator for this project in collaboration with members of Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum.
My process included the development of narrative and storytelling, exhibition planning and ideation, procurement of exhibit artifact, conceptual design, schematic design, and fabrication.
