Explorer Point

at YCMA Austin Northwest

Explorer Point is a childcare center at the Northwest Austin YMCA developed by Process Curiosity. The center was opened in in 2022.

Explorer Point is centered around the theme of groves and caves, a theme reflected in the surrounding area of northwest Austin. At 1,700 square feet, Explorer Point is divided into five zones to support the needs of children ages 0-12. Art & Programs, Baby Area (0-2), Active Play, Sensory & Reading Nook, and STEM.

I was the lead designer for Process Curiosity on this project in collaboration with members of Northwest Austin YMCA.

I worked directly with YMCA Northwest Austin to develop the theme, exhibits, furniture, and graphic content of Explorer point. My process included the design of a climbing structure, toddler crawl structure, custom bookcase and reading nook, as well as multiple additional exhibit elements.
